Synthetic ingredients have data gaps. They have long-term effects that have not yet been studied, and even many short-term effects that are known to be harmful, yet the extent is truly unknown. We never use ingredients with data gaps because we believe we shouldn't be test subjects.

Instead, we use ingredients that have been proven effective over centuries. We also use the fewest ingredients possible to address the skin's unique needs without binders, stabilizers, or preservatives.
