What is patch testing? How do I patch test?Updated 5 months ago

Patch testing is a crucial step in determining the safety and compatibility of new skincare products, especially for those with sensitive skin conditions or allergy-prone skin. It involves applying a small amount of the product to a discreet area, such as below the ear, under the jawline, or your inner forearm or thigh, and observing your skin's reaction for at least 24 hours. This process helps ensure that your skin remains healthy and free from any potential adverse reactions caused by the new product.

To patch test:

1. Choose a small, clean, and dry area, such as behind your ear, below the jawline, the inner arm, or the inner thigh.

2. Apply a small amount of the product according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Do not apply any other skincare or cosmetic product to the patch-test area for at least 24 hours.

4. Observe your skin for any signs of irritation, redness, itching, or swelling during the 24-hour period and up to 48 hours after the patch test.

If you notice any adverse reactions or discomfort during the patch test, discontinue using the product immediately and reach out to us at [email protected].
