Why is my skin breaking out more in places than I normally would? Is this called purging?Updated 5 months ago

Our skin gets used to the various products we use that can contain alcohol, detergents, and toxins, like shampoos, face washes, toners, moisturizers, soaps, foundation, and sunscreens. But when we switch to more natural products, our skin may go through a detox period, which is also called purging. During this time, our skin can shed dead cells faster, leading to dryness, flaking, excess oil production, or breakouts. To help ease the purging process, it's recommended to simplify your skincare routine.

If you begin to experience purging, reduce your routine to include cleansing and moisturizing only, and then slowly reintroduce products to your skin, waiting at least 5-7 days between changes.

Here are some example routine outlined below:

Mornings & Evenings

1. Rosewater Cleanser (gently shake each use, apply with cotton round/ball or facial pad, and rinse with warm to tepid water)

2. Intense Hydration Facial Mist (gently shake each use and mist the skin generously)

3. Intense Hydration Cactus Concentrate (apply to damp skin)
